Vienna, Austria based crypto exchange operator Bitpanda will undergo its second CEO change in less than a year, announcing that CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad (pictured top left) intends to step down in Q1 2027. Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Christian Trummer (top right) will become Co-CEO alongside him, effective immediately.

Until his departure in Q1 2027, Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad will remain CEO and continue to lead the company. The Board of Directors has initiated a structured search for his successor, with both internal and external candidates under consideration.

Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad became sole CEO of Bitpanda last November, when former CEO Eric Demuth transitioned to the role of Executive Chairman & President of the Board (Verwaltungsratspräsident) of Bitpanda Group AG, the Swiss holding company of the Bitpanda Group.

As Co-Founder and Chief Scientist, Christian Trummer brings extensive experience in developing the platform and technology that underpin Bitpanda’s strategy. He will ensure added executive focus on product excellence as Bitpanda develops its multi-asset offering across crypto, stocks, ETFs, and precious metals, and expands its infrastructure for financial institutions.
